Fit

When is VolunteerHub the better choice?

When you want a long-established platform with native mobile apps, text reminders and connections to your donor CRM or background-check vendor today. Nehemiah fits programs that want onboarding and paperwork chasing done for them and can do without those integrations for now.

VolunteerHub is the better choice when…

  • You want a platform with a long track record. Its homepage cites 20+ years and “thousands of organizations.”
  • Volunteers expect a native iOS or Android app.
  • You need automated text reminders today.
  • You want to connect a donor CRM such as Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce, or a background-check vendor such as Sterling Volunteers (as add-ons).
  • Group leaders register whole teams (the Group/Team Manager, included on Enterprise and optional on the other plans).
  • Support matters most: Capterra reviewers praise VolunteerHub’s support (reported).

Nehemiah is the better choice when…

  • New volunteers stall between sign-up and a first shift, and you want the follow-up done for you.
  • Roles carry paperwork that expires, and you want reminders 30, 14, 7 and 1 day before it does.
  • You run a clinic and want the OIG exclusion list checked every month.
  • You’d rather describe your program, by typing or by voice, than configure it.
  • You want kiosk check-in and e-sign waivers on every plan, with no add-ons.

Switching

How hard is it to switch?

It takes a few steps. Get your volunteer list out of VolunteerHub as a spreadsheet, import the CSV into Nehemiah, match the columns and merge duplicates, then set up your roles and recurring shifts by describing them. VolunteerHub lists Data Import/Export as optional on Plus and Pro (included on Enterprise), so check what your plan includes.

  1. Export your volunteers

Download your volunteer list from VolunteerHub as a spreadsheet (CSV). Check that your plan includes export.

  2. Import and match columns

Match your columns to Nehemiah’s fields once, then merge any duplicates it finds.

  3. Describe your program

Tell Ask Nehemiah your roles, paperwork and recurring shifts, or start from a template.

  4. Time it with your renewal

VolunteerHub plans are billed annually, so plan the move before your renewal date.

Volunteers don’t need to create an account or install anything. The import is a CSV file and a column match, and we can look at yours together on a walkthrough. See how Nehemiah works, or talk to us.
